Subscribers have their own private message forum to gossip on (you said that), generally get to check out features before anyone else (possibly, but it's pretty stale isnt it), and have special settings like the ability to use thumbnails in their journal (you said that), see who last visited their user page(and that), and more(really? I doubt it).


Why spend money on a site that was cutting edge 3 years ago and now finds itself as blunt as a butter knife, has a shockingly bad journaling/blogging feature, no APIs, crap search, issues with public and personal taxonomies, a crap manager (not a leader by any means), issues with group accounts (clearly you need proper groups), unfished UI (have you seen the Journal Enhancements page, it's been like that since birth), stale forums, complex settings and an unhealth obsession with numbers.

so I'm off, probably returning when there is a proper API so I can export my artwork and journals and delete myself.
